The Royal Pekan Golf Club has a rich history dating back to 1965 when it was founded by the late Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah, the Sultan of Pahang. The Sultan was an avid golfer and saw the potential for a world-class golf course in the area.
The course was designed by the renowned golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr., who has designed some of the world’s most famous golf courses. His vision for the Royal Pekan Golf Club was to create a course that would challenge even the most experienced golfers while providing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Over the years, the Royal Pekan Golf Club has played host to numerous national and international golf tournaments, including the Malaysian Open and the World Amateur Golf Championship. The club has also welcomed many famous golfers, including Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Lee Westwood.
In 2006, the club was granted the royal title, becoming the Royal Pekan Golf Club, a testament to its status as one of Malaysia’s premier golfing destinations. Today, the club continues to attract golfers from around the world, who come to experience the beauty and challenge of its course, as well as the warm hospitality of its members and staff.
